If the food is piled up, the remember to shake the food one or two times during cooking to redistribute the food and allow all surfaces to cook evenly. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basketĪnother difference between cooking in an air fryer and cooking in a conventional oven is that air fryers require air to be able to circulate freely around the food you are cooking.įor this reason, don’t overcrowd the basket. You can check on the food halfway through cooking, and add an extra spritz of oil if it looks like it needs crisping up a bit more. I often spritz food with oil for air frying rather than coating it with oil as you might for a traditional roasting recipe. For this reason you can often get away with using less oil when roasting compared with what you would need for an oven. The action of the hot air when air frying helps food to crisp up more easily than when cooking in a regular oven. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray, or brush a light coating of olive oil over basket to prevent drumsticks from sticking. Preheat the Ninja Foodi to 360 degrees F, place the chicken onto the trivet or the bottom of the air fryer, and then add the lid to the Ninja Foodi set the. Shake the bag until the drumsticks are covered with the spice mixture. However, I have found that I do usually get better results when cooking in a preheated air fryer if the cooking time is less than ten minutes. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Some brands of air fryers state that no preheating is required. A one-pot pressure cooker meal of drumsticks and potatoes - just add a green veggie and dinner is served. I normally just switch it on while I am preparing the ingredients. They make good dragoon hunters for such is the attack animation that a Tank shot is instantaneous and a dragoon shot travels before hitting. The protoss units are generally durable enough to shrug off singular Siege Mode attacks that enough zealots rushing a tank emplacement will win out between those and Corsairs, unless the tanks are being used for a specific purpose like shelling photon cannon emplacements or reavers, they work best for hit-and-runs. Such harassment works until siege tanks become available.Īgainst protoss, keeping siege tanks in Tank Mode is a viable strategy. Lockdown several dragoons and reavers, and ride the vultures up to drop spider mines adjacent to them. Versus heavier units like dragoons, they can run up, deploy a mass of spider mines, then retreat this tactic can easily be supplemented in the late-game once ghosts appear, for protoss have no counter to Lockdown (except for the Arbiter's Recall ability). Eight Vultures can take out a zealot in a single salvo, and with proper micro can defeat many times their cost in zealots. A single vulture is cheaper than a zealot and does more damage for the cost, and at range. Vultures are perhaps the best mid-game unit to use en-masse vs. Keep a few medics around to allow more liberal use of stimpacks such a defense should help protect against the protoss until one techs to vultures. Firebats in particular easily beat their cost worth in zealots as the splash-damage combined with protoss bunching to attack units makes them very damaging. Walling in works well for hindering the movement of zealots, especially if bunkers comprise some of the walls.Ĭoncussive-damage units are a lot more effective against protoss than normal, since shields take full damage from every attack type. The same wall-in suggestions work when fighting a zealot rush, for between their speed and durability, zealots generally will just run past the terran's base defenses and go straight for the SCVs, crippling the economy enough to win the production war that is StarCraft. Spider mines also work for they home in on cloaked units, and as of more recent patches, a dark templar has 40 shields and 80 HP, meaning that a spider mine will kill it in a single hit while weakening any nearby dark templar. Additionally, hotkeying a ComSat station can work in a pinch the 1-s-click as its called can temporarily nullify the dark templar cloaking ability. Supported with two or so missile turrets, this will prove a decent defense unless the enemy decides to use a shuttle and just fly around these defenses. In a map like Lost Temple, the terran should attempt to block chokepoints with supply depots with a single barracks being used as a "gate" of sorts, lifting off to allow your own troops to move through, or landing to prevent enemies from advancing. The Dark Templar Rush as it's called is quite capable of causing severe damage to an early game terran assault, for Templar can one-hit kill Marines, and slice Missile Turrets to pieces easily. Please refer to the talk page for further discussion.īecause terrans have the weakest early-game detection, a popular protoss strategy when dealing with terran players is to wall himself in with photon cannons while teching to Dark Templars. Saying so does the beauty of the game a disservice, though.Ĭompared its battle royale contemporaries, Black Ops 4 might be a refinement rather than a revolution, but it’s still the best version of a realistic battle royale (or at least, more realistic than Fortnite) that I’ve played-zombies aside-and I plan to go back to it for weeks to come. Like clockwork, this is the best-looking Call of Duty upon release. While it can be tough to tell when you’re packing a new weapon every game, the recoil patterns on the various rifles seem far more consistent than in previous games, which makes it easier to precisely blast down foes at mid-range. It’s an easy way to zip up to an unsuspecting player without making yourself too much of a target, which is always a concern with battle royale vehicles. My attempts at piloting the vehicles in Blackout mostly led to disaster, but the snappy ATV is by far my favorite, handling best with a controller, though I switch back to keyboard and mouse once I’m back on-foot. Battle royale games are at their best when you’re desperately improvising your way through an emergent situation. As we were killing the last of them, a rival squad tore into the warehouse and shot us in our backs, creating an ignominious end to the round. I never got a chance to use it, though, because a handful of zombies ran up on my crew and we had to give away our positioning by blowing them away. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 sees Treyarch take some major risks, with the reward being redefining the multiplayer market as players know it.įor example, early in a Quads match, I managed to find a bolt-action sniper rifle and an accompanying scope, my preferred loadout for battle royale games. It’s something PUBG and Fortnite don’t have, but it’s more of a nuisance than a legitimate tactical consideration. I loved feeling like I had a fighting chance, but the zombies who patrol parts of the map wore on me, especially since it made my preferred stealthy playstyle less viable. I rarely found myself without a pistol or rifle to defend myself with, even in the tense opening seconds of a match. Though Blackout rewards sprints to high-spec loot zones with the expected superweapons and god-tier armor, Treyarch raises the usual floor for gear, which deflates much of the frustration that can accompany a bad run of matches. Matches are quick and dirty, leaving only a little room for tactical maneuvering. The ten-minute lulls and tense nail-biting of a 45-minute PUBG match are mostly absent here, a welcome contrast that suits COD’s more pick-up-and-play style. The whip-sharp precision and reactivity of Blackout’s shooting easily outclasses the slightly-clunky gunplay of PUBG, while the smaller map and the generous distribution of quality loot produce a much faster, more thrilling game that’s more akin to Fortnite. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Pro Edition Review: Impressions for Blackout, Zombies and Esports. Still, its absence leaves the singleplayer relatively meager this time around, limited to solo zombie-stomping with bots or lone missions that star the game’s cast of multiplayer ‘Specialists.’ Black Ops 4 is solely a game about shooting your friends or shooting with your friends, and if the battle royale mode weren’t so fun, it’d feel a little thin for its $60 price tag. Though I have fond memories of the CoD campaigns of yesteryear, especially Modern Warfare 2’s, recent entries have left me unimpressed. If you haven’t heard, Treyarch has jettisoned the usual glossy eight-hour corridor campaign from this year’s game. Note the lack of singleplayer in that description. Originally, there were some images where I felt like the DNG was clearly the better file, but others where the difference between the two seemed much less apparent. In addition to that, I have found that I like the converted DNG files much more now than I had originally when compared to Adobe RAF conversions. I am happy to report that this issue is now completely solved for me with the updates that they have made, meaning I can convert my RAF files to DNG and still browse the web or watch YouTube, or whatever. Now if you recall, one of the biggest issues that I had with Iridient X-Transformer in my initial post was that the software utilized too much of my CPU during the conversion process and it would make using my computer for other things during that process slow and cumbersome. There have been many improvements and it’s honestly to the point now that I use it for virtually all of my paid work (and even some of my other imagery). The tool is currently in Beta, but since my initial post there have been several updates and the software is now in ‘Beta 3’. The reason this is helpful is because it side steps the Adobe RAF conversion process in Lightroom and gives you a better RAF rendering that what Adobe currently gives you. Iridient X-Transformer, for those who missed my initial post, is a tool from Iridient that uses their well known RAF conversion process to convert your Fujifilm RAW files into Adobe DNG files. It reminded me that I have yet to really do a followup to my Iridient Transformer post from back when the tool was first released, so I am here today with an update on this tool for those who prefer to stick with Lightroom. For the new DNG, with the all the settings above at base ISO, I use.A lot has been said about Capture One’s latest update and the improvements that it has brought to Fujifilm X series photographers who have decided to jump ship from Lightroom to Capture One. You will just have to add different sharpening and NR settings (significantly different than with LR alone). will be automatically be applied to the new DNG (no copying and pasting). The DNG might initially look a bit soft and noisy as it will always require some minimal NR and sharpening.Īll your initial Lightroom editing. I have "Turn off Lightroom/ACR sharpening" checked here because I will want to use different settings with the DNG than I used with the RAF in LR alone - I use a preset. Spaz, if you have your Lightroom Preferences set to automatically include changes to XMP (Edit Tab > Catalog Settings > Metadata). I used to just convert everything regardless but now just keep the Rafs and use Xtransformer Lightroom plugin when I have keepers and just copy paste all develop settings. At such extremes, IXT produces no significant image improvement anyway. The only time I don't use it is in cases of extreme ISO with significant shadow recovery applied, as the IXT DNGs can tend to skew purple. With optimal settings, I find X-Transformer to always make a significant improvement over Adobe's demosaicing. I've always just converted the "keepers" after some initial pre-processing and cropping, it only adds a couple of mouse clicks to the workflow and you don't wind up with lots of unnecessary large DNG files. I think that's what most people are doing when they convert from within Lightroom. X-Transformer uses XMP sidecars to propagate all changes from the original to the new DNG file. If you, like me, do not use sidecars all the time, you can generate XMP sidecars on demand (Save Metadata to File). I can make various adjustments in LR, and if I am still not happy with the result, only then can I run X-Transformer and still preserve all changes done so far. After reading Rico Pfirstinger's book and articles on Fuji Love, I realized that I could postpone invoking X-Transformer until deciding that I need it. IMO, many X-Trans images can be demosaiced with LR alone and do not need X-Transformer. I really like both of these and I think it’s great that there are now more shades for different skin tones! I will continue using these. The Instant Age Rewind has a slicker texture and works under eyes and I like it on my forehead before foundation. Maybelline New York has expanded two of their most loved ranges of concealers! This month, the brand doubled the shade ranges for their Instant Age Rewind and Fit Me! concealers. I also won't delve too much into Max Norman's Annihilator-esque, razor sharp production, nor the considerably profound lyricism here either. I could sit here and organize the tracklist even more, I could pick apart the truly scintillating solo on Tornado of Souls, I could tell you that Dawn Patrol is likely everyone's least favorite, but you surely already know all that. As for technical ecstasy, that aspect can be found at its highest level in Holy Wars, Hangar 18, and Poison Was the Cure, the latter of which is pretty much what you'd get if you gave Metal Militia a hefty dose of crack cocaine. If you wanted Peace Sells-level savagery, these three are your best bets. The most savage cuts on here are Take No Prisoners, Five Magics, and Rust in Peace.Polaris. It's not all fun and games, as there's certainly a hefty dose of aggression on display. I have a special love for this song, as I performed it at a recital, but I chose it because I already admired the shit out of it after just one listen. Its opening notes are wonderfully melodic, the verses are both bouncy and also shifty as hell, and Friedman's solo is simply mind-bending. Lucretia, for example, is not exactly a thrash song, but it delivers those most recently mentioned aspects in spades. Aside from syncopation, legato, and other Mustainely techniques, this album features a surprising amount of melody, tempo shifts, time signature fuckery, and more. Holy Wars. The Punishment Due, Rust's savagely technical opener, features several great syncopated, solo-like aspects in even just the opening rhythm guitar parts, and this standard is upheld throughout pretty much the entire album think Metallica's And Justice For All, but faster and better. fast and good riffs, he ups the ante in pretty much every way you could imagine. Aside from what is often expected of him, i.e. The riffwork is obviously something to behold, after all, this is Mustaine in his prime. Every solo and riff is downright inspired, the production is extremely nice and quite crisp, and perhaps most importantly, Rust does maintain the dynamic feel of its predecessors, with several lower-key moments woven directly into the tracks so it all doesn't become too overwhelming. Basically all of those issues are entirely rectified on Rust in Peace. So What, if we all can be honest here for a second, frankly sucked a bit because of its rather shitty mix, hired cast of nobodies, and low amount of spectacular tracks. It's no surprise that after the introduction of speed metal symphonist Marty Friedman and soon-to-be thrash percussion icon Nick Menza, the music blossomed once more into something quite spectacular. They kept those traits subdued enough so that the speed/thrash metal still shined, and that's pretty much exactly what's happening with Rust in Peace as well only this time, they've incorporated shred/tech ingredients. What's great about that one is the implementation of, at the time esoteric (for metal), quasi-jazz and punk aspects. But Who's Buying, Megadeth's other masterpiece. Where to even start? Well, let's rewind back to Peace Sells. What can really be said about this one that hasn't already been said? Well, I don't really give a damn about that, it's time to praise the ever loving shit out of this classic. That album is none other than Megadeth's Rust in Peace. Thus, I have decided to review the album which convinced me to embrace metal as not just a hobby, but as a lifestyle. It's my 50th review, a milestone for me on this site, and I've also been feeling rather nostalgic lately. Please use another browser during the application process. Her hope, it seems, is to override those archival works with these new versions. But Swift has power that most don’t, and her very personal fight to reshape the way wealth is distributed from creative work is a potential model for wrestling compensation back from industry forces. It’s a pipe dream for artists of any kind. Her goal now: make sure it stays within her control. Art also makes money, and Swift is equally adept at that. Art makes us feel things, a craft at which Swift is a master. But beneath those dreamy soundscapes is an artist who’s been fighting for years now to manage the means, method of production, and distribution of her work. Now 31, Swift has gone full indie-pop-as shown by her Grammy-winning turn on her recent album Folklore. In these rerecordings, the lyrics and production haven’t changed that much: it’s Swift’s business that’s shifted. Called “Taylor’s Version” on streaming platforms, the new mix will soon be followed by rerecordings of Swift’s back catalog, beginning with the rest of her album Fearless, which arrives April 9. If you pay close attention, you can hear it: there’s a new lushness in the opening banjo twangs, and an extra beat when she sings the lyric “Just say yes.” But the difference between the 2008 version of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,” which helped propel Swift to pop stardom, and the 2021 rerelease of that same song is pretty subtle.
